As many of you know, Devin has been asked to relocate with the Bank to Wilmington, Delaware. Despite the fact that we love Charlotte and have really come to call it home in the past year and a half, we accepted the offer. This move is a bittersweet one for us but we are excited for a new adventure.
The last several weeks have been a crazy whirlwind of choosing a realtor, getting estimates from the moving company, house hunting in DE, and listing our house.
Today when we arrived home from work there was a 'For Sale' sign in our front yard, lockbox on the door, and brochures in the kitchen. Such a weird feeling to have your house on display and know that people have let themselves into it while you were gone!

Wilmington, Delaware
Well, nothing like vacation on the Bank's tab. This weekend Devin and I went up to Wilmington to do some house hunting as well as some job hunting for me. I had two interviews on Friday that went very well, so hopefully something will come of them.
Saturday we spent the day with our realtor and saw homes in Middletown, DE which is approximately 20 miles south of Wilmington, and only an hour from DE's popular beaches (Rehobath and Bethany Beach) where my family would go when I was a little girl. We saw several resales and then went to see some new construction. We're definitely leaning toward new construction again as we LOVE getting to pick everything and have a NEW house!
Sunday we visited what would be our new ward. About 15 miles south of Middletown and quite small. Although they had a podium, there were no pews, just chairs. The 'chapel' converts into a multipurpose room (carpeted gym) when you pull the dividers across the foyer area. Apparently they have the largest primary in the stake, but in comparison to what we're used to in Charlotte it just doesn't seem to come close.
The best part of the trip was definitely the food. We had a $70 per diam and we enjoyed every cent! We went to Harry's (they have the most amazing crab cakes we've ever tasted - this is a must for when you come visit us) and Toscona (a great Italian place), and Ruth's Chris (I never had a better piece of meat than the USDA PRIME Porterhouse for Two - Mmmm!). At the end of every meal we were both surprised that we didn't have to be rolled home!
Sunday night we fly home (first-class thanks to Devin's preferred status) and picked up the puppies who were all staying with friends of ours (yes they took all three)! They have a puggle (pug & beagle) named Snickers and they all get along great. As always it's nice to have a break but there's no place like home!
